In order to develop awareness and gather information on telemedicine activities undergoing in the country and imparting education in the field a National Conference was organized at SGPGIMS, Lucknow on 23-27April 2001. Five international faculty delivered state of the art lectures. Around 150 delegates participated and 25 delegates presented papers. Telemedicine Society of India was launched during this conference.
